This site has online texts for free, with a handy search engine. Divided into "Reference," "Verse," Fiction," and "NonFiction."

THE BRITISH LIBRARY
A good-looking site with a vast treasure of online materials, including images of original manuscripts like the Magna Carta.

BRITISH WOMEN ROMANTIC POETS
The British Women Romantic Poet's Project at the Univ. of California is producing an online scholarly archive consisting of E-text editions of poetry by British and Irish women written (not necessarily published) between 1789 (the onset of the French Revolution) and 1832 (the passage of the Reform Act), a period traditionally known in English literary history as the Romantic period.

This site, based at Indiana University, features electronic transcriptions of works by British women writers of the nineteenth century. Victorian Women Writers Project editors tout the accuracy of their transcriptions, and the collection itself, arranged alphabetically by author, is an impressive one.

MEASURE DECISION THEORY
For the mathematically/analytically inclined, here's a page on measurement decision theory. This is a measurement model for classifying examinees based on statistical decision theory. The model is, in many ways, superior to Item Response Theory when the goal is simply classification. This page presents the model and features an interactive module which allows you to try different inputs and see the resulting decisions. Additional resources are provided.

THE META ANALYSIS OF RESEARCH STUDIES PAGE
Meta-analysis refers to the analysis of analyses... "the statistical analysis of a large collection of analysis results from individual studies for the purpose of integrating the findings." PALS
PALS is an on-line, standards-based, continually updated resource bank of science performance assessment tasks indexed via the National Science Education Standards (NSES) and various other standards frameworks. The tasks, collected from numerous sources, include student directions and response forms, administration procedures, scoring rubrics, examples of student work, and technical quality data calculated from field testing. On-line rater training packets have also been created for some tasks.

ARTSEDGE
